THE NEED

 

We are seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to be the Transportation Department head and lead the engineering and design effort for a wide range of transportation projects for DOT and municipal sector clients.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• The Department’s financial management, budgets, staffing, business development, client management and efficient production of projects in accordance with current engineering knowledge and practices
• Providing financial and professional, technical day-to-day support, guidance and input to the department
• Overseeing ongoing municipal transportation engineering and design projects
• Preparing specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental studies and designs for projects,
• Developing and expanding our clients’ existing transportation capabilities and project backlog,
• Client interface, business development, and personnel management

Job Requirements

The successful candidate for the Transportation Department Manager position will meet the following requirements:

• A minimum of 15 years experience with managing municipal and DOT transportation projects including supervising engineering personnel
• Will have a working knowledge and experience in operations related to the oversight of roadway improvement projects involving the planning, design and the construction of plans prepared in accordance with DOT agencies policies and procedures
• Will have a working knowledge and experience in operations related to the oversight and preparation of Traffic Engineering projects involving studies, planning and design, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic signal design and operations.
• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program,
• A current North Dakota PE, or the ability to obtain a North Dakota PE within 6 months, 
• Excellent organizational and communications skills.
