Mechanical Engineering Manager--Oil & Gas
(Resource Manager for Mechanical Group)
Note: this position is for a certified P.E. with a min of 10 yrs experience,
5 yrs of which are to be in O/G.

The Opportunity: this is a key technical and relational position leading approximately 40 engineers and staff while engaging top level professionals among the clients who have challenging and exciting projects.

Mechanical Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
- Recruit and mentor Mechanical Engineers and complete annual appraisals.
- Prepare training material for junior Engineers and actively relating and checking in with the employees.
- Responsible for all Mechanical Resources at all Branch Offices and be willing to travel to assist marketing and technical support of these Offices.
- Lead a project team of Mechanical Engineers and designers to produce designs for piping systems and process equipment and monitor/track their work. Ability to step into the role of engineer, Program Lead or Project Lead, if needed.
- Develop and deliver complete projects, including definition documents and detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate mechanical work with other company engineering disciplines. Works well with the other Resource Managers, approaching manpower issues in a consistent manner.
- Represent the company to the project owner and the field contractor. The Mechanical Resource Manager must have the ability to sell the departments skills to potential clients while helping identify business opportunities to bring in more work to the company. Provide data regarding engineering progress to the company Project Controls group.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
- Observe project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications.
Applicant must be capable of passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Job Requirements
Mechanical Engineering Manager Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with Professional Engineer license.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience with five of those years in Oil/Gas.
- Three years minimum of consultive sales in the Oil/Gas industry.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and team communication/presentation skills.
- Experience in leading or supervising Mechanical Engineers and piping designers.
- Strong background within Petrochemical industry or Power facilities.
- Design experience in piping and process equipment.
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft applications and AutoCAD experience helpful.
- Field experience and Construction Management are pluses.
- US Citizen and possess, or can obtain, TWIC card.
