Product Specialist (COP) - Fargo, North Dakota at Fargo

Job Description

Under general supervision this position is responsible for increasing sales and profit growth in all appropriate Center of the Plate (COP) categories, including fresh and frozen beef, pork, poultry, seafood and lamb. This will involveanalysis of sales history, training Marketing Associates, suggesting programs, direct sales contact with customers, coordinating salesactivities, extensive interaction with Merchandising and Sales departments andalso direct sales involvement as well as additional sales and marketing activities as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility of COP sales and marketing activities for assigned areas.
• Work with assigned target districts and MAs, set goals with input from the VP of Sales and the VP of Merchandising and President
• Involvement in all SYSCO Denver special events such as food shows, sales meetings and company meals.
• Must create Customer Visit impact reports, Sample Request Forms, recipes, and instruction for various publications.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and good listening skills. Have experience with and the ability to operate various types of kitchen equipment. Experience utilizing computer software involving menu analysis, menu engineering and Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel and Outlook is required. Must maintain a validColorado drivers license, good driving record and adequate personal automobile liability insurance per company requirements (both verified periodically). Must be willing to travel on an as needed basis.

Culinary Degree from a culinary arts accredited university or equivalent experience as a Chef, Chef de Cuisine or Sous-Chef required. Previous food service sales and heavy Center of the Plateexperience is strongly preferred.
