Job Description

Job Summary:

The Home Health Aide assists in providing basic nursing care to patients under the direction, instruction and supervision of a registered nurse. Assist patient with personal hygiene, ambulation and transfer, record vital signs (temperature, pulse and respirations) and prepare meals as directed.Perform laundry and housekeeping duties as needed.Promote patients mental alertness and report changes in patients conditions to a registered nurse.Assist in providing a safe and healthful environment for patient care.

Essential Functions:

• Perform direct patient care activities as assigned.
• Perform indirect patient care activities.
• Insure safety during patient care.
• Demonstrate efficiency, effectiveness and dependability in providing proper patient care.
• Maintain effective communication.
• Display a positive attitude in guest relations.

Job Requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Six to twelve months experience in a patient care facility with knowledge of basic patient care skills and medical terminology preferred.

License/Certification:

• Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
