Job Description
Interstate AssemblySystems, a market leader in sales and service of industrial product. For over 50 years we have excelled at providing solutions and adding value for our customers. Located across the upper Midwest, Interstate consists of 24 locations in nine states and growing.
Inventory control provides a critical role in support of our operation. Working in support of branch locations, Inventory Control monitors the supply of product, manages the supply chain, and supports customer and vendor based initiatives. Other functions supported through Inventory Control include new process development, data analysis, and vendor development.
Job Duties:
- Maintain inventory of key vendors to deliver a high service level to our customers
- Identify and implement turns improvement and logistics cost reductions
- Review and maintain system parameters to optimize material flow
- Responsible for parts maintenance and setup for major product lines
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate system pricing
- Coordinate with Branch locations to implement customer or vendor projects
- Physical Inventory preparation and administration
- Serve as a primary contact for branch locations to address vendor issues and assist in the resolution of supplier related issues.
Job Requirements
Ideal Candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Solid verbal, written and phone communication skills
- Analytical and process oriented
- Thoroughness (ability to see a task through to the end)
- The ability to manage multiple projects
Requirements for Inventory Control:
- Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience developing business processes
- Minimum of 2 years of Supply Chain experience
- APICS certification preferred or willingness to pursue
- Experience working with MRP/DRP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills
