Production Planning / Inventory Control Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Production Planning ~ Inventory Control Manager :
The Production Planning and Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for Production Planning efforts. Ensuring alignment between Supply Teams, Suppliers, Master Scheduling, SIOP, and Production. As well as managing Inventory/ Planning goals and objectives. The Planning and Inventory Manager directly manages the buyer/planners accuracy through the execution of process improvements, applying sound business knowledge and applying judgment based on robust cross-functional discussions. As the department leader for a the Buyer/ Planners, the Planning and Inventory Manager is responsible for developing a world-class organization that effectively meets its business requirements, and is able to deliver ongoing improvements to the process.
Coordinates PVB builds to ensure component readiness. Identifies gaps and plan for closure to ensure production schedule can be met.
Position Responsibilities:
- Direct and lead supply chain buyer/planners to assure accurate and timely delivery of components to support the production demand plan/ master production schedule
- Establish safety stock levels and drive inventory reduction efforts
- Track and manage inventory levels of raw materials, work in process and finished goods. Works in collaboration with the Supplier/ Commodity Team and Internal picking/placement/ Plan For Every Part engineer to assure inventory tracking and placement are of components is accurate
- Plan and coordinate the strategy for discontinued or obsolete inventory
- Further Develops and manages Supplier Portal by defining projects for improvement (forecast, quoting, ASN, etc.)
- Responsible for Supplier Performance Scorecard (SPS) metrics, reporting, process and further development of SPS
- Responsible for communicating forecast changes to the Commodity Team and suppliers
- Establish, develop and define Packaging requirements (tote sizes, quantities, returnable, etc.) to support inventory reduction, quality, and supplier requirements. Define requirements to be utilized in the set up of the component (CPR/Engineering).
- Responsible for PVB build coordination (identifies shortages and defines plan for closure based upon MPS)
- Manage Daily Production Meeting

- Strong Presentation and Communication (both verbal and written) skills
- Excellent computer skills with MS Excel and MS Office applications.
- 7 10 years of planning experience
- BA/BS in Business/Industrial Engineering/Materials Management/Operations/ Supply Chain or other related field
