Bartlett & West is a 360 person civil engineering and spatial data technology firm.  We are ranked in the ENR top 500 design firms and have 14 locations in 9 states.  We are an employee-owned company that has grown steadily from a small two-person partnership over a half-century ago into a multi-discipline, regional firm of design professionals.  A rich mix of professional, technical, administrative and support staff provides professional engineering and related services to governmental agencies, municipalities, private industry and individual clients throughout the United States.  This position could be located in either our Bismarck, ND location or our Billings, MT location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF POSITION: (All duties as directed to include, but not limited to the following):

• Responsible for managing civil engineering projects with an emphasis on design and project management for water treatment and delivery systems.  Project work will include water treatment plants, intakes, booster stations, reservoirs, pipelines, and hydraulic modeling.  Individual must be flexible and able to work in each area.
• Develop project scope, task organization, estimates of effort and other required resources and schedules to complete work.

• Create estimates of cost and budget for projects.
• Develop and negotiate agreements for engineering services and manage monthly billing.
• Direct all aspects of the projects including the management of staff assigned to the projects. 
• Monitor the progress of the projects and make adjustments to achieve optimum efficiency and profitability.
• Support the company’s client service model.
• Collaborate with other managers relative to problem resolution.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Market company services.

 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering

 

SKILLS/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS: 

7+ years civil engineering experience in water treatment and/or pipeline design with a P.E. required.  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, experience in managing teams, effective communication skills, and good client development/maintenance capabilities needed.
