One of the nation’s most distinguished non-profits has a current opening for a passionate Executive Director/CEO in the Fargo, North Dakota area. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious leader who is passionate about achieving goals and fueling the growth of a regional chapter of a non-profit organization.
JOB SUMMARY FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The primary function of this position is to direct the day-to-day activities of the organization in order to effectively achieve the mission, goals, and objectives established by the Board of Directors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy in order to accomplish organizational goals and advance the vision and mission.
- Serve as the chief fundraiser for the chapter.
- Provide efficient and effective operational leadership to strengthen the organization and fuel the growth of staff and volunteers.
- Work collaboratively with the board of directors in order to achieve organizational goals.
- Advance the foundation’s reach within North Dakota through strategic fundraising and successful outreach strategies.
- Lead and develop staff members.
- Actively recruit and continually engage board members to utilize strengths and effectively govern the chapter.
- Increase statewide awareness by creating new relationships and enhancing current relationships with volunteers, board members, community leaders.
- Facilitate continuous and healthy growth by overseeing and engaging the team in prudent investment decisions, realistic and aligned budgets, and ensuring 100% compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
- Continually improve the organization through sound program leadership.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3+ years in a leadership/management role.
- 2 years experience in non-profit or public agency management is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in public speaking, clear and effective written and oral communications, and effective negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of board committee functions and structures.
- Ability to understand fiscal management, including fund accounting and budgeting.
- Experience with fund raising and fund development is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in grant writing, coordination of events, and corporate giving programs is preferred.
- Computer literacy.
