Accountant at Kindred

Responsibilities

CHS / Dakota Ag Coop has an opportunity in our Country Operations Retail operations. We are looking for an Accountant to support the accounting functions for our retail facilities; ensuring timely and accurate financial information is reported. You must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You will:

• Assist the Controller in creating timely and accurate financial statements.
• Confirm daily cash activities and prepare necessary journal entries.
• Process invoicing, accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R), and balance to general ledger
• Reconcile monthly bank statements
• Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports for management
• Assist with budget preparation process.
• Apply and maintain customer prepay balances.
• Provide supporting documentation for general insurance issues.
• Promptly report to supervisor any customer and/or employee complaints or concerns.
• Work effectively with patrons, management and fellow employees.
• Available to work extended hours when needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• 4 year Accounting degree
• 2 years experience working with financial statement preparation and GL systems
• Understand GAAP – Generally Accepted Accounting Practices
• MS Office: Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Agris accounting software
• AS400 experience preferably in JDE Accounting Systems
• Knowledge or experience in Agriculture industry
