DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect, rebuild, and repair freight cars.

SAFETY: Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, responding to and acting on safety concerns.

INSPECTING: Inspect railcar frames and bodies for holes, cracks, and other defects; safety appliances including hand holds, sill steps, grab iron, brake platforms, running boards; wheels to insure that rim treads, plates, hub axles, and bearings are in good repair.

REBUILDING AND REPAIR: Maintain, replace and repair air brake pipes, valves, gaskets, air hoses and other equipment. Operate electrical and gas welding equipment to join a variety of metals and alloys; operate acetylene torches for cutting and/or shaping metal parts such as aluminum, cast iron, steel and bronze.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate specialized off-highway motor vehicles including forklift trucks, mobile cranes, track mobiles, ship tractors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

18 years of age or older
High School diploma or GED

Work full-time (40 hrs/wk). Shifts governed by union agreement and subject to seniority. Mechanical shops operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week with three 8-hour shifts including weekends, holidays, overtime. Available to work any shift required
Able to lift and carry up to90 lbs without assistance
Possess valid drivers license
Able to visually distinguish colors - red, blue, green, yellow; hear, and with training, distinguish auditory signals
Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
Able to perform work on uneven surfaces; frequently climb ladders and get on/off equipment; work from various heights including making repairs atop railcars
Able to work in conditions with loud noise and fumes, work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand, sit for extended time; use hand tools
Follow safety policies and procedures; wear the required personal protective equipment

Training: Company-paid on-the-job.

Relocation: This position qualifies for the BNSF Lodging Program. BNSF will provide 6 months of lodging in alocal hotel to new hires who meet the requirements. Further details will be discussed at the interview session.

Work Conditions: Extreme all-weather conditions; uneven surfaces; safety sensitive work environment.

Probationary Period: Journeyman = 60 days; Apprentice = 122 days.

Travel: Minimal.

Shifts/Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/wk), subject seniority and governed by union agreement, assigned shift may be one of three 8-hour shifts; Mechanical shops operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Direct and lead supply chain buyer/planners to assure accurate and timely delivery of components to support the production demand plan/ master production schedule
  • Establish safety stock levels and drive inventory reduction efforts
  • Track and manage inventory levels of raw materials, work in process and finished goods. Works in collaboration with the Supplier/ Commodity Team and Internal picking/placement/ Plan For Every Part engineer to assure inventory tracking and placement are of components is accurate
  • Plan and coordinate the strategy for discontinued or obsolete inventory

The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for performing clerical and administrative support in the coordination, care, and treatment provided of patients in a clinical setting.  Work includes documentation in medical records, utilization of established protocols in the assessment and referral of patients to clinical staff, services, and other services as appropriate.  Other duties include receiving and processing patient for outpatient treatment, scheduling patient appointments and/or assist agency employees as requested.  This position is under the direct supervision of the Primary Care Administrative Coordinator.  Preference given for medical administrative experience.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:  Normal clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; occasionally (approximately once every 3 months) work Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 12 noon.  Currently the Saturday duties are overtime or compensatory time.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep work areas clean and orderly; operate industrial maintenance equipment within a shop environment.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate forklift, mobile crane, track mobile, shop tractor, and power hand tools.

EQUIPMENT AND SHOP MAINTENANCE: Sand, fuel and clean locomotives. Clean and organize shop work area: sweep and clean work surfaces, store parts, empty and discard garbage. Operate power-driven equipment such as a vacuum cleaner, electric broom or steam cleaning gun.

  • Deliver merchandise, off-load items using hand-truck and truck ramp, with accompanying paperwork, to customers along a predetermined delivery route in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Complete all required documents pertaining to delivery, pick up, Federal Motor Carrier/DOT, food safety and inventory custody.
  • Work with Credit Department on problems pertaining to all customer deliveries.
  • Must be personable in working with customers relating to delivery or pickup problems.
  • Advise Router or transportation supervisor of changes in routes to help achieve most profitable routes, i.e., stop sequence, special instructions, new or dropped accounts.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to detail while constantly aware of the work surroundings when operating a vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

  • Coordinate with transportation supervisor(s) and router(s) to make necessary back-haul pickups.
  • Remain flexible to restructure schedule as needed.
  • Check each product off invoice or delivery manifest or scan all cases using hand held scanner (if available).
  • Safely operate vehicle to and from destinations, adhering to all traffic laws.
  • Safely load and unload delivery goods.
  • Comply with all OSHA and Federal Motor Carrier/DOT safety requirements.
  • Maintain vehicle in good working condition.
  • Maintain vehicle in clean and fueled readiness condition.
  • Report and call in all required repairs daily.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clean driving record with a Class A CDL license. Doubles Endorsement and two years verifiable driving experience preferred. Minimum of two years ramp food experience preferred.
  • The ability to lift 100 lbs. several times a day.
  • Familiar with surrounding area and be able to read a map/guide.
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
  • Requires knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operation.
  • Must be hard working and self motivated.
  • Must pass all pre-employment screenings.

Physical

  • Frequent standing/walking during delivery activities, up to 2 miles daily.
  • Frequent sitting throughout work shift up to 30 minutes at one time.
  • Frequent lifting using both hands/arms, typical weights 10-60 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent carrying of 10-75 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs., 3-4 feet from pallet to hand truck to off load area.
  • Frequent push/pulling using both hands/arms, approximately 30-100 lbs. exertion, depending on weight of load on hand truck and whether climbing stairs.
  • Frequent bending/crouching/squatting at waist or knees during delivery.
  • Frequent twisting waist/neck in normal range required while driving.
  • Frequent climbing and balancing in and out of cab.
  • Frequent use of feet in operation of foot pedals.

Mental

  • Able to read/write and record data.
  • Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Able to work independently and exercise independent judgment in completing route.
  • Constant awareness of work surroundings while driving.
  • Close attention to detail.

Work Conditions

  • In truck cab, trailer, or customer location 80% of the time.
  • Exposure to outdoors during delivery 20% of the time.
  • Hazards include: moving vehicles, equipment, slippery surfaces, noise, exhaust fumes and exposure to various weather conditions during delivery activities.

*Constantly over 80% time, Frequently 20-80% time and Occasionally under 20% of time.
