We are currently looking for a Completions Superintendent, based in Dickinson, North Dakota, who takes professional pride in finding ways to work faster, safer, smarter and more cost effectively than ever before. Occidental has significant oil and gas operations in many areas of the world, including the Middle East, South America, the Permian Basin, California, the Rocky Mountains, and the Williston Basin.

Under the general guidance of the Drilling Manager, the Completions Superintendent supervises the planning and execution of all completions and stimulations such that the operations can be conducted in a safe, environmentally acceptable, and efficient manner, and in compliance with Company policies and government regulations.

Essential Job Duties:

Coordinates and supervises the activities of Well Site Managers (WSMs) with regard to the completions & stimulations of wells.

Consults on, reviews, critiques and approves well cost estimates and completions & stimulations plans prepared by the completions engineers.

Ensures optimum operational, financial, safety and environmental goals and objectives have been established for projects.

Evaluates and approves production/workover rigs and associated equipment.

Supports the Completions Department by sharing experiences on past results achieved and lessons learned with completions team to ensure improved overall department performance.

Is an active participant in completions & stimulations design reviews and risk assessments

Provides for the development of direct reports (WSMs) by means of performance appraisals and personal development plans as well as mentoring

Determines project assignments for direct reports

Sets department operational goals

Manages the loss control responsibilities and training requirements of direct reports. Reviews and approves rig inspection, incident investigation and safety meeting reports submitted by direct reports. Ensures communication and follow-up on deficiencies/remedial actions are conducted as per the action plan.

Conducts and/or leads incident investigations when appropriate.

Ensures field work is performed in compliance with all applicable regulations and Company policies.

Communicates with partners and senior management as needed

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years in completions & stimulations operations
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with fracture stimulation in horizontal wells
• Understanding of completions & stimulations related disciplines.
• A strong track record of innovation, low cost safe operations with good technical understanding of drilling related disciplines
• Track record of working in a team environment with driling & production personnel and utilizing the skills of all members of the team.
