Business Development Manager at Bismarck

The Business Development Manager is responsible for acquiring new customers in the underground and above ground mining, aggregate, coal, and other bulk material handling industries that are in their geographically assigned market. You will call on end users directly to develop the territories direct sales volume, and in some cases help close orders through a distributor channel. Make no mistake, this is a true “hunter” oriented sales position where will be provided an entry level base salary with a very lucrative commission plan that can provide significantly higher earnings potential for a results oriented “sales closer”. This position also offers a company car, expense account, and comprehensive benefits package. We are looking to have someone onboard between October and November.

 

Job Requirements

Sales Priorities (in order of importance):

1)  Sell Conveyor Components, Load Zone products and dust suppression products to new industries and customers.

2)  Identifying leads at your new customers for capital projects.

3)  Provide field technician support and hands on “wrench turning" services when required to solve a customers’ problem.

4)  Work as a pro-active member of the entire Benetech team in order to enhance Benetech’s success and your own success within your assigned market.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Learn to sell all of Benetech’s products and services; with an emphasis on Benetech’s PPS and Suppression product lines to new prospects.

•  Schedules and conducts sales calls to pursue new customer opportunities.

•  Manages weekly sales funnel that will allow Account Manager to consistently close business.

•  Builds relationships with plant personnel to ensure Benetech is always “top of mind".

•  Develops contacts within different functional areas of new and existing accounts to sell additional products.

•  Entertains customers and prospects at the right levels to ensure strong relationships with key decision makers.

Minimum Expectations

This position requires a high energy, driven sales professional to meet the guidelines below.  In order to feed Sales Funnel the following guidelines are expected:

  • Visit 12-16 prospects/customers per week
  • Perform 16-20 appointments per week
  • Make 20-30 prospecting calls per week
  • Submit 5 qualified bids/quotes per week
  • Overnight travel up to 4 nights per week, and weekends when necessary.

 

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

  • Position requires the general mobility to function throughout the facility and customer work sites
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing/walking
  • Ability to travel extensively (90%)
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability and willingness to learn how to perform fairly simple maintenance tasks in a heavy industrial environment.

    • Personal Computer
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle

 

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Position requires high energy, outgoing personality, and someone who enjoys being on the road 90% of the time meeting people and helping them solve problems. 
  • Sales oriented individuals who have a college Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Project Management, Application Engineering are helpful, but not necessary.
  • What’s most important is a willingness to learn and leverage your strong interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit to build a sales territory.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, analytical, and sales skills required
  • Highly self-motivated and self-disciplined with ability to work effectively with little or no supervision-a true self starter.
  • A willingness to get your hands dirty and learning how to not only sell, but in some cases, install and service our equipment in order to satisfy the customer. 
  • Strong overall business knowledge and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent computer skills required with strong proficiency in Microsoft Applications
  • Able to demonstrate a history of stability, accomplishment, and success.
  • Some Experience selling to heavy industry and managing sales distribution channels a plus.
