Serves as a Supply Technician in Logistics Service, Materiel Management Section. Employee will have the responsibility for managing, analyzing, coordinating, and controlling supplies required to support the operating programs of this facility, the CBOCs, and other areas as deemed necessary. Manage multiple Primary and Secondary General Inventory Package (GIP) inventories to create maximum inventory turnover and maximizing service to the user. Provide guidance to other staff members and coordination of inventory management processes based on analysis of generated reports within the GIP system on an ongoing basis. Duties include maintenance of the GIP, Item File Updates, Vendor File Maintenance, Medical Product Data Bank, and serve as a Clinical Product Review Committee subject matter expert.

Specialized Experience:
GS-6: Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing the following types of duties under supervision - management of stock and inventory for medical facility and surrounding clinics; procurement of intentory items, researching product specifications to meet clinical and functional requirements; researching and negotiating pricing, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and accounting for receipt and disposition of items; inventory management at multiple locations; apply regulatory guidance as it applies to federal acquisitions and purchase card program and conduct physical inventories.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is normally accomplished in an office or warehouse setting. However, due to the nature of the work, the incumbent may be called upon to assist in the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies primarily consisting of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee might be required to endure brief periods of heat, humidity, etc., as some warehouse areas are not air-conditioned. Some climbing may be associated with stocking items in storage areas.
