ResponsibilitiesProvides strong leadership to the branch sales organization and coordinates with Finance, Merchandising and Operations to work towards the branch objective of being the Distributor of Choice in our market by offering the best quality of services to our customers.
- Develops a clear, dynamic vision for the sales organization to promote excellence, execution, enthusiasm and confidence within the sales team and theexternal market.
- Creates a vision for the sales team that supports the branch vision.
- Effectively communicates the sales vision to associates at all levels within the company and sets a clear direction for the sales team.
- Formulates and recommends best practices and objectives to ensure the most effective operation of assigned departments. Ensures that approved practices and objectives are fully understood by all Sales Department associates.
- Promotes confidence and earns the respect of the sales team as an inspirational leader, resulting in tangible financial increases.
- Creates an energetic, productive sales organization while honoring the history and culture of FSA.
- Works as a member of the team with Associate Services to recruit and hire high performing Sales Managers and Sales Associates.
- Provides training and direction to support the sales team in accomplishing set goals.
- Acts as a resource for the development and maintenance of an effective sales team, providing coaching and counseling as needed.
- Develops, leads and directs an effective sales management team by providing accountability and mentoring.
- Makes sound decisions that will positively impact the perception of FSA within theexternal market, based on an understanding of the market and of the competitive challenges within the market.
- Plans, directs and executes any arrangements required for participation in trade shows or other programs.
- Understands the financial condition and needs of the branch and plans accordingly.
- Analyzes and approves all expense budgets for Sales Managers.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in Business or related field or the equivalent combination of education and industry sales experience
- Minimum of ten years of broad line food service experience, with at least five years in sales leadership
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels inside and outside of the organization
- Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships with associates and customers
- Exhibits the highest level of customer service in our industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills, with prior experience in industry and sales related software preferred
- Possess valid drivers license, reliable transportation and required insurance
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screen

- Must have computer related software skills and knowledge using Microsoft Office, web based portal, Business Intelligence Data Base, Activity Based Costing Data Base, AS400 operating system use and knowledge a plus
