Regional Safety & Training Coordinator at Grand Forks

Responsibilities

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation Division. We are looking for a Regional Safety & Training Coordinator to join our growing organization. You willprovide safety & compliance direction for CHS Transportation, meeting all DOT, OSHA, EPA and Homeland Security guidelines. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills both verbal and written and have the ability to work independently meeting all deadlines.

You will:
  • Maintain accurate safety & compliance information in Transportation terminals.
  • Conduct random inspections, audits of log books, roadside inspections and review driver qualification files, determining issues, discrepancies and suggest recommended changes.
  • Lead accident & incident investigations.
  • Monitor all safety infractions and violations, ensuring CHS is meeting all rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Transportation management in the selection, hiring and training all driver staff.
  • Prepare and maintain all required safety risk management plans including; spill prevention & storm water plans, emergency evacuation and business interruption plans, and hazard assessment plans.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary educational tools to keep CHS Transportation staff educated and up-to-date on all DOT, OSHA, EPA and Homeland Security rules & regulations.


Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree with 5years of experience, OR High School diploma with 9 years of experience in Transportation & Logistics to include:
    • Experience conducting safety or driver training
    • Working within an hazardous materials regulatory and compliance environment
    • Conducting DOT inspections and enforcement
    • Motor fleet management or operations experience
  • Up to 50% travel required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), computerized order entry / dispatch systems and on-board computer systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree
  • Supervisory or team leader experience.
  • Experience with conducting seminars, presentations, and public speaking
  • Project management and/or incident investigation experience.
  • Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
