Job Duties:

The incumbent performs a variety of food serviceduties in support of the VCS food operations. He/she may be assigned to perform duties in any of the following areas:kitchen areas, serving lines, computerized cash register utilizing the point ofsale system, etc. In each assigned area and consistent with food standards,guidelines and instructions, the incumbent assists with the preparation,presentation, and serving of food items. 

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, shift may vary.  This is part-time 30 hours, every two weeks. 

Physical Requirements:  This work requires constant standing,bending, stooping and stretching for their entire shift; frequent lifting up to45 pounds and occasionally over 45 pounds. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.

Incumbent must be able to read, count, and write;prioritize work; follow oral/written instructions; and maintain establishedcustomer service standards.  Incumbentmust have good "people skills" with the ability to interact withcustomers and workers in a positive and friendly manner. Incumbent must be ableto perform multiple tasks; be flexible and have the ability to work in a fast-pacedenvironment.

Incumbent should have experience in the followingareas: food service, operational knowledge of a variety of equipment, exposureto proper food handling and sanitation procedures, operational knowledge of a computerizedcash register and counting change.

Incumbent is expected to work independentlywith minimum guidance from the supervisor. Work involving actual food preparation is accomplished under theguidance from the supervisor for conformance with acceptable food servicepractice and standards.  Work isevaluated in terms of compliance with instructions/standards and timelycompletion of assignments.
