This position is to provide recreation assistance to the Chief of Services in implementing activities and maintaining facilities and equipment associated with recreation services available at Cavalier AFS, ND (remote/isolated).
· Assists the Community Center Director with events sponsored and conducted by the Community and Outdoor Recreation Centers. Helps schedule and publicize routine activities to ensure attracting and motivating participants.
· Assists in overseeing the establishment and maintenance of usable attractive and functional facilities and recreation areas. Ensures cleanliness and adherence to sanitary, safety and fire prevention regulations.
· Monitors and maintains accountability for building, equipment, furnishings. And supply usage. Ensures equipment, furnishings, and supplies are controlled, and a checkout log is maintained.
· Identifies and satisfies customers needs. This position serves as frontline for customer service. Utilizes customer feedback to thoughtfully and properly assess customer needs and expectations. Maintains 15 Hospitality suites including a kitchen. Ensures all requires all required items are available in the hospitality rooms and they are ready for use.

This position is located at Cavalier AFS, ND, which is geographically separated by approximately 90 miles from Grand Forks AFB, ND.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been at the GS-04 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service. Examples of creditable specialized experience include: group leader, counselor; teachers aid in elementary school recreation or physical education program; aid or assistant in recreation while on active military service; etc.OR

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas
1. A practical knowledge of one or more recreational activities, including preparation requirements for events.
2. Skill in the use and maintenance of recreation materials and equipment.
3. Skill in directing recreational participants in well-organized and carefully monitored recreation activities.
4. Skill in the operation of a computer/office automation equipment. (A qualified typist is not required.)
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
6. Ability to follow written or oral procedures. Knowledge of sanitary, safety, and fire protection regulations.PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Although the position does not require a qualified typist (40 WPM), the employee will be required to complete preprinted forms and prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation using office automation equipment.
2. Work requires an uncommon tour of duty.
3. The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle, an appropriate valid drivers license from the state of residence or principal employment is required on the position.
4. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
5. This position has been identified as having regular contact with children. In accordance with Public Law 101-647, Section 231a, a State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC) is required.
