This position provides internal oversight for processing, technical aspects of education programs and laboratories, maintains external professional involvement, and provides technical consulting both in the U.S. and abroad. Specific responsibilities include coordinating and supervising all aspects of pilot-scale, value-added processing of northern crops, coordinating and developing technical aspects of educational programs, consulting on technical aspects of grain processing, coordinating marketing of technical services and maintaining NCI pilot-scale processing capabilities and laboratories. Publication opportunities are limited, as NCI is a non-research facility. Initiate and develop long-term relationships with private industry. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
-M.S. in chemistry, food science, cereal science, food engineering or related field
-Industry experience in agricultural/food processing
-Supervisory ability
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to work with a culturally diverse audience
-Ability and willingness to travel internationally
-Familiarity with analytical procedures and related laboratory testing equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
-Ph.D. in chemistry, food science, cereal science, food engineering or related field
-Minimum of three years industry experience in agricultural/food processing
-Familiarity with quality aspects and processing crops grown in the north central region of the U.S.
-Fluency in foreign language
