HR Staffing & Training Manager at Williston

Job Description

The District Staffing & Training Manager is responsible for assisting the District Supervisor(s) in managing the recruitment, staffing, and associate placement to optimize coverage at the stores.  This role assists the District Supervisor in providing job training for store associates and acts as a resource to support the District Supervisor and store managers with questions related to recruitment, staffing and store training. This position works in partnership with the Human Resources support team on decisions falling outside of normal parameters and in functions of human resources that fall outside of recruitment, staffing and training

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment: Work with the General Managers and Supervisor to open positions and review applications.  Schedule, coordinate and conduct interviews as needed.  Creates reports for assigned territory.  Travels to career fairs or hiring events across area; determines sourcing and advertising strategies by position.  Researches recruitment trends and competitors hiring practices.  Places staff at various locations as determined by current needs.
  • Training: Process owner for training all new store associates.  Works with General Managers and Supervisor to ensure individual training needs are identified and planned for, responsible for quality of training experience, evaluation process, and feedback as necessary.  Work in partnership with KG functions for the delivery and distribution of training and development based on need. (i.e. food training).  Train new hires on specific store processes and tasks. 
  • Contact for District Supervisor and General Managers:  Serves as primary contact to support field with all recruitment and training questions. 
  • HR Systems: Manage the HR systems processes and tasks as assigned for completion of recruitment needs and staffing changes. 
  • Housing: Manage process for associate provided housing including creation of procedures, selection and evaluation.  
  • Works in partnership with Grow People support team on decisions falling outside of normal parameters such as associate relations, performance management, organizational design and employment law.  

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Associate’s Degree required in business, human resources, communications or related field with 2-3 years of human resources, training, or relevant retail experience.

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required:

  •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  •   Ability to conduct training
  •   Ability to interview and select good candidates for store positions
  •   Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
  •   Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows environment, word processing, spreadsheets, email and  
  •   Web-enabled applications
