Sales Representative at Minot

Job Description

Primary Function

The primary function of the Sales Representative is to actively promote and sell Hancock’s line of precast concrete products in an assigned market area. 

 

Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain a profitable customer base, service existing customers by providing product and service support
  • Gauging customer satisfaction and providing feedback to management
  • Developing new customers while maintaining strong relationships with Hancock’s current customer base

 

Primary Tasks

  • Routinely call on prospective and established customers
  • Call on Consulting Engineers, State Departments of Transportation, City and County Officials, and Project Owners to promote precast concrete products
  • Coordinate and attend education and informational seminars and one on one presentation’s, conducted by Pipe Association Technical Staff members, to Civil Engineers, Owners and Municipalities
  • Work closely with plant personnel to facilitate a timely and accurate order-fulfillment process
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new products and services.  Develop and prospect for new accounts through core and emerging markets
  • Develop technical and application knowledge of Hancock Concrete Products product lines
  • Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers and customers; promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company
  • Assist the Sales Manager in the development of annual and strategic sales and marketing plans

 

Qualifications

  • Strong communication abilities with solid interpersonal/networking skills
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work successfully without close supervision
  • Must be able to multi-task in an accurate and timely manner with superior time management skills
  • Possess ability to effectively conceptualize, plan and organize. Previous knowledge of developing sales/marketing plans for assigned territory
  • Evidence of leadership and professionalism
  • Ability to analyze and manage data
  • Knowledge/experience in the Highway Heavy and Utility construction materials industry
  • Experience with presentations and technical seminars
  • College degree in Civil Engineering preferred. 3-5 years relevant experience required
