Java Software Developer / Integration Engineer at Fargo

Innovation Group is currently searching for multiple Java Software Developer / Integration Engineer to join their team.  These individuals will create OO designs, develop and deliver application configuration and integration programs for the Insurer suite. This is a virtual/remote/telecommute full-time opportunity that could involve some travel to client sites.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn and master Innovation Insurer portfolio of solutions to create OO designs, develop configuration and integration of our products.
• Become certified in our products via IG specific training.
• Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
• Partner with IG on-site team and client team to understand business objectives and development / integration requirements.
• Interface with project teams and customers to interpret requirements and provide recommendations.
• Independently performs analysis to develop and implement designs for projects.
• Configure Innovation Insurer suite solutions for business rules, processes, etc.
• Basic understanding of UML and OOAD .g. class diagrams, sequence diagrams, use case diagrams, and use cases. Implement OO designs using UML in Java J2SE.
• Develops moderate to advanced integration programs and components to connect Insurer applications with other customer internal or industry external solutions using JAVA and XML.
• Execute configuration / integration testing using JUnit, JMock, etc. and diagnose and resolve defects in Java J2SE.
• Assist with the modeling and design of the product as well as support of the product.
• Undertake bespoke development where required.
• Contribute to improving software development approaches and processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a third level or higher education institution is required
• Minimal work experience of at least 3-5 years preferred, more senior experienced candidates will be considered as well
• Strong knowledge to a set of broad technical skills including:

o  OO Design for Java J2SE applications

o  JAVA and JEE

o  Relational databases and modeling (DB2 UDB, SQL Server)

o  Web UI design and development

o  XML, XSLT, HTML, JavaScript and DHTML

o  Application Servers (WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat)

o  TDD, SOAP, WSDL, XSLT, AJAX desirable.

o  Application architecture

o  Experience in design patterns (singleton, factory, composite, etc.)

o  Solid experience as a professional software engineer developing solutions for Java JEE based applications using OO Design.  Experience with a commercial product development team a plus.

o  Possesses the drive and enthusiasm required for high quality, leading edge development.

o  Ability to conduct in-depth research and work through complex problems successfully and reach workable solutions.

o  Customer focused with emphasis on quality and continuous improvement.

o  Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiar and remains current on industry standards.
• Software development lifecycle exposure with AGILE methodology preferred with a working knowledge of Scrum.
• Highly proficient in the entire application lifecycle from inception and design, through to development and support.
• Excellent problem solving skills and detail oriented.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leads in design, code and test reviews where needed.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities for continuous improvements
• Self-directed with ability to work independently, within a team and cross-functional groups in a collaborative environment - motivating and energizing others.
• Ability to work interchangeably and independently on cross-platform technologies is a plus.
• May be required to overnight travel to customer sites. Travel could range from 30-50% depending on project.
